Let your unique magic shine abundantly through your work
From expert tips and tricks to some real-time hand-holding--
This mentorship program from a doula with 20+ years in practice can take you from where you are to the next level, whatever that is for you.
You’ve finished your basic doula training, and want someone by your side who can walk with you through your first experiences as a doula.
You want to learn from someone who has come as close as possible to mastering the doula arts, and you want to be able to use your teacher as an ongoing resource.
You've got a good idea about your doula style and strengths but you feel like there’s room for growth.
Perhaps there’s a point of discomfort in your work, whether it’s how it fits into your life, or how clients respond to your suggestions, unease in handling negative client feedback, or a contract that sometimes leads to misunderstandings.
Maybe you still walk into births not 100% confident that you'll know how to help. You just know you can love this work a little more.

And anything else you can imagine! The list is seemingly endless.
I’ve been an actively practicing doula for over 20 years and still love this work! I’ve avoided burnout, adore my clients, and connect deeply with them. I've continually found what worked for me over the years as my life changed.
Having supported over 350 births, I haven’t “seen everything” but I’ve seen a lot, and draw on that experience to teach my students how to be ready for anything.
This is not a one-size-fits-all program. I get to know you and help guide you to find YOUR best way to be a doula. So this mentorship is part teaching, part counseling.
Each one-hour virtual meeting has a general focus but is always personalized to your needs
with plenty of space for your questions and reflections.
(sliding scale for those receiving any government aid)
We’ll go over what you feel you need help with to make sure you leave this first meeting with more confidence, and tools you can start using with clients immediately.
Let’s talk about births you’ve attended, prenatal & postpartum interactions with clients. Whether you want help with a particularly challenging issue, or you just want tips on how to make the most of your time with clients, we use your personal examples to learn from.
Your website, marketing, billing insurance, interviews, your contract, your fee—we’ll make sure all of these feel good to you and fit you where you are in your life.
Great for births and any real-time challenges.
Perfect for that quick question
Best for processing a birth or questions before or after a prenatal or pp visit.

I was born in San Francisco in July 1978 on a beanbag chair in an apartment in Diamond Heights.
My memory of my dad’s telling of my birth is that I flew out like a football. But while pregnant with my first child in 2004, I learned that midwives used the word "catch" instead of "deliver"-- I remembered that my dad had said he'd wanted to catch me when I was born--so maybe I'd just imagined the football imagery? He'd passed in 1995 so I couldn’t ask him and my mom didn’t remember, so I asked a midwife friend if projectile babies was something that ever happened. Her answer was yes! So I'll take it as truth. I was a shooting star, right away.
At the writing of this, I’m in my late 40's. I'd like to think I've gained a lot of wisdom. I've experienced many challenges and I've grown at every turn, becoming stronger and gaining more tools for facing the future. One thing I know is that I've always been great at helping people do hard things, and these days it seems to be an expertise.
When I attended my first birth as a doula in September 2005 I knew I'd found my calling. Truly. I have adored my work as a full-time, solo doula more than any work I dreamed of finding.
All these years later, after raising my two children as a single mama, and now empty-nested, I love my clients and attending their births more than I ever have. But I’m getting older, and a lot of things are changing. So I’m attending fewer births, booking up happily with my doula partner Kim Winkleman, and growing other passions and future callings.
I want to spread what I've learned in this lifetime so far, and would love to share it with you!
I'm at the point in my life where I have a strong desire to pass along everything I’ve learned over the years. But everyone is so different, and I want to help each person find their own best way of being a doula. I don’t want to teach one way—I want to take my birth wisdom and combine it with what you know about yourself, what your needs are, your specific personality and values.
I have not only learned how to be an amazing birth doula—I’ve learned how to guide and counsel, from a place of immense compassion and true non-judgement. And I love it! My one-on-one time with clients and fellow doulas is much more fulfilling than any book I could write. Maybe I will someday but for now, this is what feels really good to me.
